The Ridge is filled with family friendly fun activities and attractions. There are also a number of events throughout the year that make it extra special for families with children of all ages.

Where to Stay:


Locally Owned, Family Operated
: The Ponderosa Garden Motel is an excellent option for you and your family on your trip to The Ridge. There are plenty of rooms and it is located in the heart of town and near other activities in the area.


Where to Eat:


Known for their signature coffee and creative bites, Lofi Café is a local favorite in Paradise. Their menu features crowd-pleasers like the Mother Clucker Baglewich and house-brewed coffee. Stop in for breakfast or lunch and enjoy the cozy, community vibe.


Make a visit to
Mountain Mikes for delicious hot pizza and a great selection of draft beer.


Maria’s Kitchen   is known in town for its tamales and serves a delicious array of authentic homemade foods with both indoor and outdoor seating. Check their facebook page to see what live music events they have going on.   


What to Do:


Visit a Candy Factory
: See chocolates, candies and confections being made in the candy kitchen at Joy Lyn's Candies & Confectionary Factory. The shop has called The Ridge home since 1969 and is known for their award winning Beer Brittle made with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Go Fruit Picking: From July through March stop by Noble Orchards to pick apples and peaches. You can also purchase some of their delicious fruit at the local farmers markets. Or celebrate all things apple during Johnny Appleseed Days!

Go For a History Hike: Yellowstone Kelly Heritage Trail is a converted railroad that is now a five mile paved trail. Along the trail you will find 31 plaques with information on Paradise pioneers and the community. 



During your walk take a small detour to enjoy Ridge Top Parlor! A local favorite for cool treats and good vibes. Ridge Top Parlor serves handcrafted ice cream in fun, seasonal flavors that keep the whole family smiling. Stop in, grab a scoop, and enjoy a sweet break on the Ridge.

Play Disc Golf: At Magalia Community Park you will find South Pines Disc Golf a 40 Acre, 18 hole course with 70 different basket locations that are switched weekly. The course is open 7 days a week and hosts various events and tournaments.  On hole 18 treat yourself to Izzy's Bar & Grill and check out the Magalia Community Center.


Take in the Views: Bille Park is an excellent place to enjoy the outdoors on The Ridge. Spend some time in the park or follow the trail for a breathtaking view of Butte Creek Canyon.

Going to a locally owned restaurant on The Ridge will feel just like dining at home as many of the establishments are family owned and operated. Friendly faces will be waiting to greet you at the door and tell you some of the local favorite items. For any meal of the day you will find delicious food made with fresh ingredients right in town.
